How Important is Logo Size on Your Website?
Your logo is the face of your brand and must bare consistency throughout all of your marketing. Often , the first instinct is the bigger the better, however, its size matters when applied to your website to ensure quality and definition are not lost, and to make sure the load time of your website is not impacted.
A logo does NOT make up 100% of your brand.
It is good to consider as wide an audience as possible. Many people still use older PCs, browsers, and operating systems, and it won’t matter how superior your logo is if your site takes ten minutes to load.
Large-sized logos that make your page load slowly can cause you to lose prospective clients.
The main focus of a website is to get customers to visit you. The logo helps them quickly identify they have come to the right place. A logo that overwhelms the website can impact user experience and easy navigation of the site.
White Space is Good!
Good design of a logo and website encourages the elements to breathe, leaving white space for visitors to easily see the desired actions you have set them up to take. With a constant increase of mobile and tablet use, white space is critically important for browsing smaller screens.
Never compromise user-experience.
A logo that looks super on a desktop browser can be quite the opposite on a mobile device.
Play with Fonts
Avoid using more than one font. Try both serif fonts and sans-serif fonts as well as script, italics, bold, and custom fonts.
Tips to Keep in Mind for Logos…
- Always keep a master copy of your logo for future editing.
- Online vector programming like Illustrator should be used to make the master file so that the size can be scaled to any requirement.
- You will need both horizontal and vertical versions of your logo, to cover any future marketing applications, whether business cards, clothing or other promotional items.
- Ensure that your logo image size is smaller than 200 KB for online profiles. Under 100KB is best.
Size matters. Ideal sizes are…
